This weaving was made with a mixture of fabric and yarn. I was not trying to keep everything perfectly even or follow a particular pattern. I simply moved between the different materials, adding strips of fabric wherever they felt right and letting the yarn create its own lines and texture.
I am not sure whether someone else might look at it and think it is a little messy. To me, it feels rough, almost grungy, and that is exactly what I like about it. The loose fibers, uneven rows, knots, and bits of warp showing through give it a character that something neater might not have had.

I remember feeling very satisfied while I was making it. There was something freeing about not worrying whether every row was straight or every material matched perfectly. I could just keep adding, changing, and watching it become something of its own.
The natural branch felt right for this, it’s not polished but neither is the weaving. It may be a little rough around the edges, but it’s exactly as planned.
